Configuring Outlook Express for
DialUp Net Services
1. Open Outlook Express by double clicking on the icon. The icon should be on the
desktop; if not, click on the Windows Start button, Programs, then either
Outlook or Outlook Express.
2. Click on Tools on the menubar on the top and select
Accounts.
3. You should see a list of tabs on the top, click on the Mail tab.
 4.
Click Add to add a new mail account or double-click an account already
present to edit it.
5. Under the User Information section,
you should see Name, E-Mail Address & Reply Address.
Enter in you name as you wish it to appear in your outgoing email.
Then type in your full email address in the form of johndoe@dialupnet.com.
You can leave the reply address blank if you wish for those replying to you
to send mail to your regular email address that you have just entered.
6. Click on the Servers tab on the top of the
window. You will see configuration information for checking your e-mail. The
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) and Incoming Mail (POP3) contain the mail
server information. Refer to the table below for this information.

The POP3 username. Typically this would be the first part of the e-mail
address. For example for user John Doe who has an e-mail address of johndoe@dialupnet.com, the
POP3 username would be johndoe. |

7. Under the Incoming Mail Server section, you will see a field titled
Account Name & Password. The Account Name contains the
POP3 login for your e-mail address. Typically the POP3 value will be the
first part of your e-mail address. For example if John Doe had an e-mail address
of jondoe@dialupnet.com, his POP3 login will be johndoe.
Type in your mail password in the Password field. Make sure that the check
box for My server requires authentication is NOT checked. Click on OK to
save the settings.
